On the Tunisian island of Djerba, Aicha marries Said, who spends eleven months of the year working in Tunis. She dreams of joining him, but he insists that she must give birth to a son first. While Aicha weaves carpets to finance her departure, the women around her struggle with loneliness, marital expectations, and the weight of tradition. When a long-awaited son is finally born, Aicha’s hopes of a new life become more complicated than she imagined.
