German musician and composer Alexander Hacke travels through Istanbul with a mobile recording studio to explore the city’s extraordinary musical diversity. Meeting musicians from different backgrounds and generations he discovers a soundscape that ranges from traditional Turkish and Kurdish music to rock electronic music and hip-hop. Through performances conversations and recordings the film offers a portrait of Istanbul’s cultural life and the many musical influences that shape its identity.
